What is Happiness ?

“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it. “

-Elizabeth Gilbert

I believe happiness totally differs from person to person. What a person has. If a person doesn’t have wealth, he would think that happiness lies in possessing wealth. Another would find their happiness in doping prayers and meditation. Some may find happiness in travelling to their favorite places and exploring all around and some may find it in gossiping. It is wrong to say that one can get happiness by slaving for it.

It comes to every individual as naturally and refreshingly just like the air in the morning. I think one can get happiness by enjoying the work in hand. If a person keep himself busy in doing his or her work which gives them happiness, in this way they can remain happy.

Sometimes it may happen our hopes and ambitions often make us unhappy that doesn’t means not to try for it and leave it, instead work harder to reach your ambitions successfully. If a person thinks that every moments is to be enjoyed like every drop of dew left in the bud, he/she will definitely be happy.

Many people have habit of comparing and contrasting and the desire to become what others are, often leaves sorrowful heart. If you are enjoying Peace of mind you will definitely get the happiest life. Every person on this planet deserve happiness. Hard work is always appreciated. One should always do his/her duty best without thinking of the result. Duty, which God wishes us to perform, that should be our aim.

Such people always overjoyed by success and not frustrated by defeat. Happiness is the state of mind and not the ownership. Happiness is the product of imagination and good deeds and not the slave. It is to be enjoyed through spirit and not through senses. It can be felt and experience but not seen. Fools are those who seeks happiness in power.

As I said at the first happiness differs from person to person, some people find happiness in watching birds dancing in the sky. In fact, one should find happiness by living every single moment with interest and enthusiasm. The bitter fact of life is that riches brings selfishness, greed, dishonesty and even a falsehood along with pride and worries. Our wants and desire are multiplying day by day. The more we have, the more we crave for. So, if we really needs happiness in our lives, we will have to change our attitude towards life. Those who believe in God and surrender themselves in his feet will find happiness knocking at their door.
