Are you a nature lover? An adventure seeker maybe? Or, do you love trekking & hiking? Yes, we all do in some way or other. And, a day out with nature is always so relaxing and more vital.

I have always been a travel freak and adventurous kind of a person and I believe there are so many unexplored places and beauty we should not miss. Travelling makes us feel alive and I am always enthusiast to discover new places. Just like that, one Monday me and my roommates over a regular coffee talk thought to spend the coming weekend in the lap of nature and thus my favorite spot same to my mind. Since long I was thinking to visit this beautiful place in the outskirts of Pune and yes, we did it. Can you guess? Beautiful surreal waterfall and the best time to visit being monsoon of course. Yes, I’m talking about Devkund Waterfalls. As the name suggests, it’s truly a place of God. It’s located in Bhira, Raigad district and a most popular one day picnic spot for folks in and around Maharashtra.

The enormous waterfall pouring over the rocks will truly leave you with just one word “Wow”. Yes, it is that good and beautiful.
We started our trek from Bhira village and usually it’ll take 2 hours one side (6 km approx.) to reach the plunge waterfall which is truly a mesmerizing view. Remember to start early in the morning.
It’s a moderate trek and going to be exciting as you will have to cross rivers, bridges along the way. For a group of friends, this place is just perfect.
Things to carry:
Pair of shoes, extra clothes, a torch, water, some instant energy snacks and a first aid kit.

- Follow the instructions of the leader if you’re in a group.
- Not with a trek guru, take a local guide who will charge 50/person.
Don’ts:
- Don’t go beyond a limit for pictures.
- Do not wear flats or sandals, what you need is good grip shoes.
- Do not have a heavy meal before trek.
What’s exciting:
- Couple of streams to be crossed.
- Good spots to click selfies, groupies with green trees, mountains and so on.
- You’ll find a good spot to either sit with your feet immersed in water or take a dip.
Guys, this is the most attractive waterfall in Maharashtra, deep inside the jungles. This place is a must visit for both trekkers and non-trekkers because of the beauty this place offers. This waterfall is also believed to be the origin of Kundalika River. The trek trail is mostly flat thus beginners can easily traverse. What you need is just good stamina.

So, who’s planning a Devkund trek soon? I guess many. And, why not? This is nature, most beautiful and for sure an escape from reality in the lap of nature.
